The following is an interview with Elaytenih, frost warden, by Tuhwa, elder chronicler for the Great
Library of Ir Alatha. > 1 What do you see as your future goals? Both long term and short term I aim to master my craft, understand the full complexities of Neeva, and serve as exemplar of a new way of seeing adventuring. > 2 What do you think is the best thing about you? Your biggest weakness?Your greatest strength? My strengths are my objectivity, perceptiveness, flexibility in understanding, and insight. My weaknesses are having trouble dealing with the chaos of the city, my skin, and occasionally being too withdrawn to feel with others. It makes me seem perhaps more aloof than I am. > 3 What is the most enjoyable thing you remember doing? What is the most significant thing you remember doing? I am one of the first graduate of the primary levels of the Academy of Cold. There I discovered much of the world hidden to most and I aim to continue in such learnings. I like to destroy the simple conceptions of reality people entertain. > 4 What is your favorite place in Ir Alatha? I would rather that not be a matter of public record. Suffice it to say, there are few who go there. > 5 Describe your ideal day I wake early, meditate in the cool before the sunrise, then allow myself time to fully take in my environment. One of the things I have enjoyed most here in the city is the abundance of interesting people. Also the food here is beyond compare. I would find a quiet corner to study, observe, or enjoy a drink. Perhaps on a particularly energetic evening, I would enjoy the company of a friend or two. > 6 How do you feel about the people you travel or spend time with? I travel alone. > 7 What makes you most excited, what do you enjoy the least, what do you fear the most? I most enjoy coming to a fuller understanding of the world and everything in it. I like to observe and learn about nearly everything. I fear being useless or incapable, having to depend on others too much, and having too many demands upon me. > 8 Why do you think you're here I find this question nebulous. I do not know my reason for existence, but I aim to be one who is perceptive, original, provocative, capable, and knowledgeable. > 9 Tell me about your past, where you're from, your family, notable > accomplishments or failures, any significant other relationships or jobs I was born a curse to my family, my father died soon thereafter in a shipwreck. My family and neighbors ran us out of town. My mother suffered as an isolated pioneer in the wilderness until I was old enough to know how to help. I spent my whole life in the wastes and only recently arrived here as I heard whisper of an Academy of secret understanding. My mother is my only attachment. > 10 Theres a dangerous creature approaching your group quickly, you... Watch it until I am certain of its intentions. If it intends harm, the icy tendrils of Neeva penetrate my spear as it plunges into the beast's flesh.
