"Tilt one back with me boys"
The following is an interview with Lucky, head of loss prevention for the League of Free Trade, by Tuhwa, elder chronicler for the Great Library of Ir Alatha. 1 What do you see as your future goals? Both long term and short term Hmm, short term goal...finish this tankard of grog, long term goal...hmmm... to never feel the hangover? 2 What do you think is the best thing about you? Your biggest weakness? Your greatest strength? The best thing is my uncanny sense of luck. They do call me Lucky for a reason. My real name is...well, Id rather not say. The luck is my greatest strength, along with the endless supply of drinks and connections this job affords me. Greatest weakness, hmm. Well, could be the missing eye. Or the ugly destroyed fins, or the 37% of my body covered in scars. Maybe its the hook for a hand. No, no, the peg leg. Thinking about it, I'd say my biggest weakness is the ladies... 3 What is the most enjoyable thing you remember doing? What is the most significant thing you remember doing? The most enjoyable, eh, can't remember her name, but she...wait are you actually writing that down?! Ha! The most significant thing Ive done was provin me worth to the League to land me this job. 4 What is your favorite place in Ir Alatha? Seriously? Name one person that has seen me anywhere outside this bar in the past year. 5 Describe your ideal day Every day is my ideal day. I wake up in a corner somewhere, use the loo, eat some leftover roast meat and bread, grab a pint, gotta start slow ya know, get a message or two about a job, drink some more, send people out on the job, drink some more, shoot some darts, drink some more, enjoy the ladies, drink some more. Dang this is making me thirsty... 6 How do you feel about the people you've hired? Ombra, Eenkho, Jarakeh, Dogen, Saykoo, Gumbfree, Lekhtalis? Hmm Ombra is one crazy old pegiya hawker. I dont understand half o what he says if I'm drunk or sober. Eenkho I ain't completely sure I can trust isn't planning something, but he does a slam fine job. I'd hire him any day o the week. Same for Jarakeh on the hirin' thing. Doesn't strike me as the shifty type and he always seems eager for a job. Dogen I just met an he don't talk much but I think the son of a lamdril stole the money from the tip jar on the counter. I like him already. Saykoo, now there's one I wouldn't leave my coinpurse out around. She don't say much, but she's a looker and a half. And she'd slit yer throat for a loaf a bread. Don't recognize the other two names, hmm. Ain't Lekhtalis one a Zihth's fanatics? 7 What makes you most excited, what do you enjoy the least, what do you fear the most? Excited? Ale, grog, mead, lagers, wimminfolk, a good roast, a job bein done, did I say grog? Least-any of that list not happening to me. Fears- well it ain't gonna happen, but I best not lose this job. 8 Why do you think you're here? Here? Like in the Desert Oasis? I never flightin leave here! I'm here to make sure stuff stays safe and gets where it needs to and any problems git taken care of. 9 Tell me about your past, where you're from, your family, notable accomplishments or failures, any significant other relationships or jobs Yeah, um, I'd really rather not right now, this is getting a bit long for my tastes. I grew up in the Archipelago, took a sailin job as most o us were wont to do and moved me way up. All ya need ta know. 10 Theres a dangerous creature approaching your group quickly, you _______________________________________________ Take another sip and hire someone to take care of it 11 A quote that personifies you
